Department of International Communications
Spring Semester 2024
This past semester was very busy, with many fun events and activities happening on campus. We especially enjoyed spending time and creating lasting memories with our international students from Hawaii. In the Department of International Communications, three Tokai students had a chance to live together with the international students in the school dormitory for five weeks.
Second year student Mirei Yamamoto and third year students Maya Kobayashi and Haruka Nishimura served as Dorm Advisors in the DA Program, which is part of the “Public Works C” Internship. During the program, these students learned important leadership skills. They teamed up with 15 students in the Mentor Program to help coordinate activities, assist the international students in Japanese language study and adjusting to school life, while collaborating with teachers and school clubs like IFA (International Friendship Association) and ESS (English Speaking Society) on several student exchange events. It was a great chance to meet new friends, expand our comfort zones, and deepen our cross-cultural understanding and communication skills. As evident in the photo slideshow, students had a great time, creating friendships and memories that will never be forgotten.
We look forward to having more international students on campus in the future.

国際コミュニケーション学科
2024年春学期
この学期は、キャンパスでたくさんの楽しいイベントや活動があり、とても充実した期間となりました。特に、ハワイからの留学生と一緒に過ごし、忘れられない素晴らしい思い出をつくることができました。国際コミュニケーション学科では、3名の東海大生がドームアドバイザー(DA)として5週間にわたり留学生と寮生活を共にしました。
2年生の山本美玲さん、3年生の小林真綾さん、西村はるかさんが、国際コミュニケーション学科開講授業「パブリックワークC」インターンシップである「ドームアドバイザー(DA)プログラム」として、留学生寮のアドバイザーを務めました。このプログラム期間中、DA学生は国際交流に必要なリーダーシップや異文化コミュニケーションを学びました。また、彼らは、メンター?プログラムに参加した15人の学生とチームを組み、活動のコーディネートを手伝い、留学生の日本語学習や学校生活への適応を支援し、大学の公認団体であるIFA（国際友好協会）やESS（イングリッシュ?スピーキング?ソサエティ）の部長教員と協力して、いくつかの学生交流イベントを実施しました。
これらの活動は、新しい友人に出会い、キャンパスライフの可能性を広げ、異文化理解とコミュニケーション能力を深める絶好のチャンスとなりました。写真のスライドショーからも明らかなように、学生たちは永遠に続く友情と思い出をつくり、とても素晴らしい時間を過ごしました。
今後も多くの留学生が札幌キャンパスの国際交流プログラムに参加し、東海大生との間に友情と信頼の架け橋を築いてくれるよう心から願っています
